September 25, 2020 – The official report from county health is showing five active COVID cases in the county. The school district will remain in its yellow phase next week. We did have an active case reported from the high school which has led to a few students needing to quarantine. As always, if any students are exhibiting signs of illness please keep them home until the symptoms subside. With everyone doing their part, we can keep the schools open. Thanks!

Yellow Phase-The district will be moving into our yellow phase due to 5 reported positive COVID cases in the county. After reviewing the yellow phase, it appears we have been operating more in the yellow phase than we were in the green phase. A few differences I did find include the following:
• Some classes like band, choir, or PE may have to be altered b/c of size or location and/or have the nature of their activities modified.
• Social distancing will be enforced to the extent possible in each classroom.
• Desks/workstations will be arranged in the same direction to avoid students facing each other unless using physical barriers.
• When social distancing is not possible, face coverings will be strongly encouraged.
• Use of masks by all persons encouraged in public spaces with groups greater than 12 and in accordance with district policy. This includes hallways, restrooms, and break rooms.
• Students should not be sent to the board to work unless 6’ distancing, and each student has their own marker.
• Route times may be adjusted, or spare bus/vans used to pick up as needed.
To view the reopening document, please go to the district website and click documents. The reopening plan can be found at the top of the list.
Should we continue to see a spread in COVID cases in the county there is a strong chance we will move to required temperature checks and mask wearing. At the direction of county health, we be assigning seats on our buses and adding another bus to make the shuttle run across town.
