Woodson News

The following is the new format we will use to report Covid conditions within the school district. Currently, the county is reporting 23 active cases in the school district, but these cases are confined to only 14 addresses.  There will also be a few of the cases dropping off over the weekend.

The district is currently in the process of hiring and a medical person to help with the Test to Stay Program.  When we get this program up and running parents will be able to decide to keep students home for quarantine or have them tested daily to stay at school.

We are currently running our pilot program at the high school, and it is providing students the opportunity of staying in school.  On the first day of testing, the eight students who tested were negative and we’re allowed to attend school.  Prior to this testing, they all would have had to stay home for the duration of their quarantine.

When looking at the number of students in quarantine at the elementary, please realize that this number will be reduced by about half on Monday with many of the students returning to school.  Also, in this number is a classroom that has been doing an in-school quarantine and didn’t miss school.

Here’s wishing everyone a great weekend and stay safe out there!
